About Mind Clarity Coaching

I have spent a lot of time around aircraft and the pilots who fly them.  My sport of choice for many years was skydiving, and my husband flew helicopters in the United States Marine Corps.  During that time, I learned a lot about aviation and the importance of an aircraft’s instrument panel.

In bad weather, or what pilots call “instrument conditions,” the instrument panel is an essential guidance system, providing the life saving information that, if trusted, will keep the pilot and passengers safe and get them where they need to go.  It takes time and diligent training for a pilot to learn to trust the gauges he sees.  Clouds and your body can play tricks on you, making you feel disoriented.  My husband has spoken of having “the leans.”  This is a situation when you feel as though you’re in a turn, but are actually flying straight and level.  Inexperienced pilots will compensate by turning the opposite direction; this makes them feel as if they are flying straight and level, but they are actually turning.  This has killed pilots in the past, most notably JFK Jr, who was killed due to a similar form of spatial disorientation.  This is what flight instruments were made for; as long as the pilot trusts the instruments, the flight will remain safe.

Everyone has their very own instrument panel that gives life saving information, much like an aircraft.  This “inner guidance system” gives perfect clarity on the direction we are moving in life and steers us clear of danger.  The problem is, that most people have never been taught how to use this inner guidance system, nor are we even aware that we naturally possess such an amazing tool, that if trusted and followed, will lead to a successful and fulfilling life.

Instead, we rely on outside sources to navigate us through different experiences which cause us to become disconnected from our authentic self and its needs.  Our minds become so cluttered with everyone else’s expectations and baggage that the clarity we once had, slowly disappears in clouds of confusion.  This can create feelings of frustration, fear, and unfulfilment.  Like an inexperienced pilot with the leans, one can easily turn the wrong direction, away from safety and their goals.

Moments of clarity bring feelings of ease, contentment, relaxation, confidence, and excitement to name a few.  Getting clear on our individual wants and needs, and how to attain them, will naturally create more successful and fulfilling life experiences.

Mind Clarity Coaching was created to assist you in “de-junking” the mental clutter that prevents you from experiencing true happiness and success.  We teach you to connect with your own inner guidance system to create positive forward movement and lasting results.  We help you become the pilot of your own life, not just a passenger.

Frequently Asked Questions

A life coach is a professional who helps individuals make progress in their lives in order to attain greater fulfillment and success. Life coaches assist their clients in self-development by clarifying goals, locating obstacles that may be standing in the way and implementing strategies and actions plans to overcome these obstacles and create lasting change.

Anyone can hire a life coach!  Life coaching is for someone seeking assistance in changing habits, reaching goals, or improving their life.

Life coaching is NOT therapy.  The primary difference between a therapist and a coach is that, generally speaking, therapists tend to focus more on the past or present while coaches tend to focus more on the present and the future. Therapists are often more focused on mental health conditions while coaches are often more focused on behaviors and strategies.  It is very important that if you are feeling symptoms of mental illness that you talk to your doctor right away.  Therapy is very important and extremely helpful in cases of mental illness.  A life coach is not qualified in any way to deal with any symptoms of mental illness.

Life coaching is not a regulated profession, so there are no degree requirements.  However, there are certificate courses that teach and certify individuals who are interested.  I became certified through the “Coach Training Alliance” (CTA).  By becoming certified, I was under the supervision of an experienced coach who equipped me with proven skills and techniques to be more effective for my clients, getting them the results they are in search of.

Coaching helps an individual decide what they want to do and a consultant teaches them how to do it.  Mind Clarity is a combination of coaching (gaining clarity on a specifics) and consulting (setting goals and teaching techniques with accountability).
